What Personal Information About Members and Visitors Does SDERA gather?

The information we learn from members and visitors helps us personalize and continually improve your experience at our website. Here are the types of information we gather:

  • Information You Give Us:We receive and store any information you enter on our Web site or give us in any other way. You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of many of our features. For financial transactions, we use tools provided to us by third-party vendors (Square, Inc. and PayPal) to process these transactions. We retain no data from these transactions. Information given within our internal areas (protected by password) is of specific use and does not contain ANY financial information.

We respect your privacy. we do not provide your contact information to any third party vendor, associate or service provider. Additionally, specific membership information is only shared with those with a very specific and appropriate need AND only with your direct approval.

How Secure Is Information About Me?

Any member information is stored in a database this is stored on an internal server at a secure site. Information specific to members is available only to San Diego Electric Railway Association, Inc (d.b.a. National City Depot Museum) staff with a specific and appropriate need and is secured by password access in non-public areas. We maintain a mailing list for outreach and marketing purposes that contains mailing and emailing information - typically for newsletter exchanges and courtesy information about events. We store no information about general visitors to the site.

What About My Financial Information?

We do not store any financial information about members. For Credit Card / PayPal transactions, information is processed though either Square, Inc or PayPal. Contact those providers directly for specific privacy concerns. Use caution when providing your banking / credit information on ANY website since your browser (Edge, Chrome, Frirefox, Safari, etc) may store information "to make transactions easier." If you are concerned about maintaining strict privacy, decline to store your information using your browser. This is a function of the individual browser on your computer, not our website.

SDERA has not begun to offer member access to information at this time. No other information is given without permission.
