News On this page, you can find the following items: The project's primary thrust since last issue has been low voltage electrical work. John Sullivan, Art Aydelotte and I also got the doors at both ends of Car # 1122 working. On the electrical, many fuses and resistors had to be replaced, and some light bulbs installed. The San Diego Electric Company on University Avenue has been giving us a 30% discount on all materials! The store, owned by Robert Becker, SDERA Life Member, is a true joy to shop at. They have EVERYTHING electrical that we will need! Please patronize this establishment whenever possible to show our appreciation for their kindness. Chasing electrical circuits is a slow task, but is rewarding when the answer is found. I recently bought a new analog multi meter, as it is more precise than my digital meter. Currently, we are working on getting the electric windshield wiper motors operational. The inside warning buzzer, and passenger chime to let the operator know you want to get off at the next stop, are also working. After that, we will start working on the outside marker and brake lights. The inside dome lights will wait until we are ready for overhead current. Volunteers are needed. Thanks to the great article in the U-T of Sunday, February 25th, three new potential volunteers have contacted me! We were also showcased in The Star-News on February 23rd, and we are getting new contacts from that. It is so nice to have all three cars in the warm, mostly dry car barn! - Dave Slater, Project Manager There are no Press Releases available at this time.
