The first visitor to the San Diego State University's new underground Green Line Trolley station was a SD100 test train in early 2005. The 2024 car is one of 52 of this class of Siemens cars on the San Diego Trolley system. There are an additional 71 (as of 2005) older U2 models that will probably not visit SDSU due to the steep inclines between Grantville and the SDSU tunnel's West Portal.
