The opposite end of Car NH 6891. As a double header, a complete set of controls can be
found at both ends. Note the wooden seats and package racks on the right side.

To transport the cars, MTS crews put a temporary set of rails that would sit on
the flatbed of the truck. Photo by Chris

Car NH 6888 - the first of the cars to go - prepares to be pulled onto the flatbed. Notice
the blocks that Trolley workers placed to raise the car to the same level as
the rails on the truck. This proved to be an effective technique! Photo by Chris

Car NH 6888, with a sign showing "Sonderzug" or Special Car in the window finally makes the
incline onto the truck. The distance between the wheels and the front of the
car made for a difficult time. The car caught on the rails starting to go up
and scraped a bit on the lower (left) side. Determined MTS workers kept
trying until the right combination of blocks and force made it work. Photo by Chris

Once on the flatbed, the wheels under the trailer moved away from the cab until
it reached the point where the trailer and cargo were level. The team
secured the car and we were ready to roll!

Our driver, John Buckland, from C & D Towing maneuvered the car across the yard on the first
part of its journey to National City. Petco Park is clearly visible in the
    background.
